You can provide users with a single link to search 1 to 15 publications included in your ProQuest subscription. You can create a maximum of ten of these links. The links you create will automatically display on ProQuest's Select Databases page. You can also add these links to any web page, like your library homepage.
To access this functionality go to the User Interface section of the ProQuest Admin Module, and click: ‘Create a link to search a set of publications.’
On-screen instructions walk you through the process of creating your links and making them available to users.
Things to know
- When you create one of these links, you are required to give it a name. The named link will display at the top of the Select Databases page. Note that there is a 100-character limit on this field.
- When a user follows one of your links, the link name will display as the page header at the top of all search pages, and on the Results page. While the link name is displayed at the top of the page, subsequent searches will be limited to content from the publications referenced by your link.
- The user will be taken out of the context of your link and its specified publications when the user does any of the following:
- Changes their database selections or clicks Use Selected Databases on the Select Databases page.
- Clicks Publications, and then clicks a publication title.
- Clicks Browse, and then clicks any browse link.
When the user is no longer limited to the context of just the publications provided by your link, the link name at the top of the page is replaced with the original page title.
