How do I choose a primary subject category? The ProQuest Dissertations & Theses (PQDT) database and the ProQuest citation indices are arranged by subject categories. There is a comprehensive list of subject categories included in your publishing agreement packet if you are submitting via paper submission. Authors submitting electronically through https://www.etdadmin.com/ will be presented with a full list of subject categories during the submission process.
Choose a primary subject code which best describes the content of your paper. This is the category under which your paper will fall in the ProQuest Dissertations and Theses database and the citation indices. You may also choose up to two additional subject categories, if you wish; these will be associated with your work as secondary subjects.
We have done our best to include a wide range of subject categories in order to accommodate as many fields of study as possible, but there are times when no single code will describe the content of a paper. If you are having trouble selecting subject codes for your paper, please contact Dissertation Support at https://0-support-proquest-com.library.cairn.edu/submitcase
